KABADDI

Kabaddi is a popular contact sport that originated in India and is now played all over the world. It requires agility, strength, and strategy to succeed. Here are the basic rules and steps to play kabaddi:

  1. Number of Players: Kabaddi is played between two teams of seven players each.

  2. Playing area: A rectangular court of 13 meters by 10 meters is required for playing kabaddi.

  3. Objective: The objective of the game is for one player, known as the "raider," to cross the centerline of the opposing team's court, tag one or more of their opponents, and return to their side of the court without being tackled or held by the opposing team.

  4. Toss: Before the game, a toss is held to determine which team gets to choose whether to raid first or defend first.

  5. Game Play: The game starts with a player from the team that will raid first entering the opposing team's court. The player chants "kabaddi" repeatedly while trying to tag as many opponents as possible and return to their side of the court. If the player successfully crosses the centerline and returns to their side without being tackled or held by the opposing team, their team earns one point.

  6. Defending: The opposing team's objective is to tackle or hold the raider before they can cross the centerline and return to their side of the court. If the defending team successfully tackles or holds the raider, they earn one point and the raider is out for that round.

  7. Scoring: The team with the most points at the end of the game wins. The game usually consists of two halves of 20 minutes each with a 5-minute break in between.

  8. Fouls: There are several fouls in kabaddi, such as crossing the boundary lines, touching the opponent with anything other than the hand, or holding the opponent's clothing. These fouls result in the offending team losing points or the player being disqualified.

Kabaddi is a fast-paced, exciting game that requires physical strength, quick reflexes, and strategic thinking. It can be played indoors or outdoors and is enjoyed by people of all ages and genders.
